@patlee Great thread indeed… it takes me back to Walt’s question at the D Conference with Jobs and Gates, pressing them to answer about what the next computing paradigm would be, beyond the mouse pointer. We have it now! It’s the iPad and is definitely better at certain things.

We definitely need one of these for our fridge, @natashakandilas. twitter.com/jsnell/status/…

I was super-pleased to add my old iPod Hi-Fi to the AirPlay 2 family yesterday, after finding a (now discontinued) AirPort Express in #Sydney. Thank you to @jsnell for making me aware of this fantastic technological possibility!  🔊

@Chundles I recall this well. I would preach forever about things (probably to the point of customer annoyance) but price was definitely it.

@Chundles Yes

@endlessnoodling That’s funny. Laptops are great but iPads are so useful in the classroom, particularly with creative apps. My wife @natashakandilas is really into that as a primary school teacher.

31 Oct 2018

@jsnell I think what you have just described is truly being in the Snellzone.

@Chundles What happened to the quadrants?! Clarity really helps. I think that they shot themselves in the foot with the MacBook and expected that they could push on without the Air branding. Consumers loved the device and sent a different message, so now it’s messier.

@endlessnoodling Won’t allow it?!

@Chundles Yes the mini certainly seems to have more of a pro (or at least prosumer) angle than it used to… it was once the Mac for switchers and is now kind of the Mac for servers. Cheap + new is gone.I’m keen to see what happens to the MacBook after all of this.

31 Oct 2018

@endlessnoodling I love hearing about how people use each of the devices. The iPad Pro has taken up the majority of my computing too. Let me know if and how the new Air alters your daily use once you’ve had a go at it!
