I was a huge fan of Dashboard widgets when they came with Mac OS X Tiger, so it’s great to see them live on in iOS. (I did have useful ones on the Mac but to be honest, my favourite was a ‘Lost’ widget that set off an alarm about the end of the world every 108 minutes.) twitter.com/stroughtonsmit…
@mgsiegler Great piece and the title is perfect for it. Interestingly, maybe it’s something about being Australian or living outside of the US, but I loved hearing Jony’s voice in those videos—a real point of difference.
@caseyliss @nguyenhimself @Nahirk The point about it ‘not lining up with humans’ is interesting to me. If water freezes at 0 and boils at 100 and we, as humans, are made up of water that would follow that rule and kill us accordingly, then it makes sense to me. It’s simply what you’re raised with, methinks. 😀

@amicusadastra @gruber Thanks, Andrew! I appreciate the link too; I’ll make sure to have a look at it.
@jamesthomson As long as they don’t touch Submarine!!!
@LoungeRuminator @gruber I recall that you’re a fan of Marshall McLuhan’s aphorism ‘the medium is the message’, so perhaps you’ll find my summary of the WWDC keynote at the start of this thread interesting. It’s my take on it, anyway—inspired by the tetrad work of his grandson, @amicusadastra. 😀
@andrewcanion Two things: I feel your pain with having friends on Android and I would be happy to send Memoji if you wish haha (the ETA thing may be a bit useless between Wollongong and Perth…).
Thank you for highlighting me, @NowNowNow! If you want to discover a range of new blogs and projects through people’s ‘Now’ webpages, check out the Twitter account and linked site. 😀 twitter.com/NowNowNow/stat…

@Chundles A very fair assessment! I’m pleased to have the ‘Up Next’ queue in the app but that’s about it.
@caseyliss @tuckerjj Such a complex system and you can understand how growth becomes a mission
@tuckerjj @caseyliss Yep! I wasn’t sure exactly how extensive the consequences would be but it’s in the realm that I imagined. That’s why no matter how much we admire the company for its products, everything always has a profit motive, even socially responsible measures.
@caseyliss @tuckerjj The word ‘unsustainable’ certainly comes to mind. Yay capitalism!
@maddiepalmer No worries! Enjoy the return to regular viewing, haha.
@maddiepalmer Very true! I was also starting to wonder if perhaps it was a separate function/input/channel (in one of the views) on your TV but from what you’ve said, I understand that they’re both running on Apple TV.
@maddiepalmer Very odd… good idea!
@maddiepalmer As in, can you bring it up on the screen to then swipe that app/instance up and out of the overall horizontal list with the Siri Remote’s trackpad to quit it?
@maddiepalmer When you double-tap the TV/home button, do you get the normal, swipable multitasking interface?
@maddiepalmer It doesn’t look like the normal picture-in-picture feature on tvOS but perhaps this will help. support.apple.com/en-us/HT210525
@nicolasmagand @LoungeRuminator I haven’t tried Mythic Quest yet but I intend to have a look! The next one that we got into (and are currently watching) is Central Park—quite amusing!
We’re fortunate in Australia to have quite a lot of European content through @SBSOnDemand. Plenty of good French films there!
