@cleverdevil @atpfm @siracusa @caseyliss @marcoarment I would also appreciate any further stories about major new appliances and fixtures in the house. Why stop at fridges? I want to know about heaters, air-conditioning units, ovens, shower-heads (e.g. low-flow versus high-powered blackmarket alternatives from Serbia), whatever!

In the latest episode of the Feld Notes #podcast, ‘A Home on White Place’, my Baba Penka tells the story of buying land and building a new house in the suburb of Figtree. šŸŽ™ #family #history #Wollongong #Australia podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/7-a…

@atpfm Good on you for starting a membership plan! Like others, I’m super-pleased to support it and love the idea of ‘static ad removal’—you’re walking the talk when it comes to maintaining true podcasting. It will be exciting to see where you may take this in the future. šŸ˜€

13 Jun 2020

@maddiepalmer I haven’t tried that but best of luck!

13 Jun 2020

@maddiepalmer As far as I’m know the different user profiles on tvOS are more to do with logins within different apps, rather than changing what’s on the Home screen (i.e. if you switch to a different account, you will see other content in your streaming apps or in the ā€˜up next’ TV app queue).

13 Jun 2020

@endlessnoodling Oh yes, take advantage of that for as many things as you can!

13 Jun 2020

@endlessnoodling I’m fortunate that I have a copy of Final Cut Pro for work but I don’t have Logic like you do—the reverse! Great app

13 Jun 2020

@endlessnoodling Cool! Thank you! I’ll have a look. My main/favourite apps on macOS are things like @iAWriter, Pixelmator Pro and @NetNewsWire, which are what Mac apps should be. @SlackHQ, @MicrosoftTeams, etc. fit the unreliable, buggy category of that article. They behave strangely on the Mac.

13 Jun 2020

@endlessnoodling There’s healthy criticism of macOS in there too. šŸ˜€ Frankly, I’m exceptionally happy with all of my devices and try to divide my time between both platforms to get the best of both worlds. I can relate to some of the things in there and think that it could all be even better.

Perhaps you’ve seen this trick before, @gruber, but I thought that it was an amusing design element/feature. šŸ˜€ My wife showed me this very enthusiastically at my desk. t.co/cVMTlV8pU…

@sytaffel Congratulations! My eyes are almost falling out of my head with all the videos calls that I’ve had to do as well. Enjoy the rest!

11 Jun 2020

@sharped @KateMfD Yep, I like what’s written there. I see why you would choose that one. Also, this is quite a long article but you may enjoy it: aiga.org/the-mostly-tru…

@sharped @KateMfD Very nice! If you had to choose which map you prefer, which one would it be?

Today on Lounge Ruminator, I connect a great article by @sytaffel to an episode of the enjoyable @ditheringfm. From there, I consider how traditional mass media can help us understand marginalised peoples and topics like #BlackLivesMatter. loungeruminator.net/2020/06/10/29-…

@sytaffel @nybooks A fascinating article—thanks for sharing! Key point: racism is bad everywhere. Totally agree… it continues to be something that many people don’t view in their own nations.

08 Jun 2020

I’m not sure about you, @gruber, but I find the disruption to normal title case in the first line to be a little annoying. I know that ā€˜Internet’ isn’t always capitalised these days, however it should fit Apple’s longstanding style in menu bars, etc. t.co/ZjZwu6Nd0…

In the latest episode of Feld Notes, ā€˜Moving to Australia’, my grandmother tells the story of moving with her family from former Yugoslavia (now North Macedonia specifically) to the city of #Wollongong in 1974. šŸŽ™ #podcast #family #history podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/fel…

This is a brilliant summary of America’s history and situation and he’s completely right—except for when he says that the country is singular in the way that its majority refuses to look beyond myths of its innocence. Sadly, many in Australia are also guilty of this. twitter.com/simran/status/…

@aeberbach Haha I’ve said too much!!!

07 Jun 2020

@aeberbach We already stole Russell Crowe, Sam Neill and Crowded House; I reckon that we could take much more! šŸ˜‚

@zcichy Indeed! Not sure if you’ve watched the show but he (Adama) also puts aside his own beliefs and adjusts strategic decisions in wartime to back their female president… top guy!
