I’m thrilled to launch #ReallySpecificStories—part of a PhD on tech-podcast fandom with lovely supervisors @KateMfD and @CL_Moore.

I thank my first participants and my wonderful wife, @natashakandilas, who listens to me go on about this constantly.

@pyrmont Haha that’s a bit weird. Which example of this have you seen most recently?

@dariodoubleL I have nothing to add to the discussion of his behaviour on the court, however my wife and I were once surprised to see him appear suddenly in front of us through a set of shortcut double-doors at Ikea in Sydney. He had not yet found what he wanted and looked unimpressed.

For me, Saturday in Australia = @rageABC. A great 90-year @ABCTV special! 😍 t.co/0Ye1GDM90…

@geoffkim I haven’t heard that one before! It’s a novel idea but yes, people don’t always think about the effects of technology.

@QueensDroneAge The bit at the beginning about public toilet floors and used masks was both disturbing and hilarious. 😂😂😂

@angharadyeo Awesome! Thanks!

@angharadyeo I’ve had kangaroo before but never like this. A good recommendation and you’re right about the environment!

@angharadyeo Looking at this now, I’m flabbergasted that it hasn’t become a regular brunch item at Australian cafés.

@mary_goglia @HemisphericPod @PrinceCreed90 @andrewcanion Hi, Mary! In developing the app, @PrinceCreed90 has ensured that it works across all Apple devices of different sizes. If you download it on Apple TV / tvOS, you can play it with the Siri remote or a Bluetooth game controller. apps.apple.com/au/app/arcadia…

@JamesCridland I love that you’re sharing a timeline editing screenshot here; it shows how much effort people put into #podcasting and how things are constructed. We’ve made a habit of sharing screenshots in every episode of @HemisphericPod, using the app Ferrite by @wooji.

@angharadyeo An excellent point! Cameras still exist. 🙂

@angharadyeo I was once told by a family ‘friend’ that I have a face for radio.

19 May 2022

@andrewcanion There you go!

How did you feel about the ‘avoiding eye contact with volunteers’ comment? 😂

19 May 2022

@andrewcanion On the panel? Do you know her personally?

We’re lucky to have @ABCaustralia and shows like @GruenHQ. twitter.com/lukebuckmaster…

Thank you to listener @perthbandits for an excellent topic suggestion in this episode! It’s one of our sillier segments… 😂

@_vincentritter I agree! It’d be cool to see a modern take on it. It wouldn’t be as big as iPhone but I think Apple underestimates how many would love such a thing. Removing cameras and phone components, you’d have space for better inbuilt speakers or even mics for high-quality audio recording.

‘Tis a sad day. I would argue that the #iPod was Apple’s most focused device. apple.com/newsroom/2022/…
