I believe that there’s still room for a new, small #iPhone. @mgsiegler put it perfectly on 500ish Words: ‘The “iPhone Mini” Revisited’ – Lounge Ruminator loungeruminator.net/2019/01/23/500…

@endlessnoodling Does your brother-in-law use or intend to use such things?

@endlessnoodling Good points! :) I give companies like Garmin a lot more credit than Wear OS watchmakers. Garmin knows its strength as a fitness brand and is focusing on making theirs smarter. Apple can provide the more fleshed-out computing and app experience for those who want it.

@endlessnoodling What is bothering him the most?

23 Jan 2019

@agiletortoise It’s a powerful punctuation mark! I think that it adds an air of positivity and reassurance to sentences that would otherwise sound sarcastic (or even passive-aggressive) with a full stop.

23 Jan 2019

@endlessnoodling I totally agree! I saw a lot of billboards for Garmin when I was still commuting to Sydney… plenty of joggers there with them too.

It’s still relatively early in the world of smart watches when compared to smartphones, however a clear trajectory has developed. I had some thoughts based on Ars Technica’s article ‘Even with the Google/Fossil deal, Wear OS is doomed’ – Lounge Ruminator. loungeruminator.net/2019/01/22/ars…

@ulliverti @gruber That is exactly what I thought when I received that notification.

@Chundles Oh yes definitely avoid it then…

18 Jan 2019

@Chundles I haven’t looked… is it just a bunch of mannerless keyboard warriors now?

18 Jan 2019

@agiletortoise I agree but I have the feeling that users would just continue typing their text until it runs off the slide! People are incapable of keeping text brief on slides.

Using @Twitterrific by @Iconfactory makes @Twitter enjoyable. Things are so much better when you have a chronological timeline, greater app customisation (such as user- and term- muffling) and no ads. @jack and the company could learn from developers who are in touch with users. twitter.com/siracusa/statu…

@waltmossberg Thanks for sharing it! This is such a good point: ‘Companies should challenge themselves to strip identifying information from customer data or avoid collecting it in the first place’. There needs to be a behavioural shift and it’s great that #Apple stands for this.

@natashakandilas Haha we’ve all done that!
