I really enjoyed your discussion on #iPhone pricing on @_upgradefm, @jsnell and @imyke. I couldn’t agree more with your point about people wanting the best… but it’s too expensive. I’ve been Apple obsessed since I was five but I’m happily staying with a 7 Plus for the moment.

@LoganUranick @backlon I agree with you. Given that Apple (accidentally) built a huge games market through the App Store for iOS, they could easily make a couple of hardware changes, rejig their communications and have a compelling device for combined entertainment and gaming.

@inky Well g’day g’day to you too.

@gruber @dtellom @DonSqueak Jobs was clear for decades that the best experience is hardware and software that just works together. Apple hasn’t dropped that narrative, instead extending it and even adding services to the mix. It’s easier for people to misunderstand the ecosystem and whine about it online.

@ismh Whenever I see those bells, I think of musicologist Howard Bannister from the comedy ‘What’s up, Doc?’, who identifies that a hotel counter bell is half a tone off. Have you seen the film? Classic

@dtellom Excellent point!

@daringfireball @ismh The keyboard design that goes right to the edge on this laptop is what does it, plus this similar stylistic cue is what I personally love about the look of the Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro. It’s like bezel-slimming on the other half of the machine.

@backlon I often wonder how different the entire Apple TV experience would be if the company finally built an appreciation for gaming. I’m by no means a gamer but it would be great to see an included controller and some more oomph to rival the Xbox as the iPad Pro apparently does now. 😉

Great piece on the difference between Jobs’s and Cook’s warnings, @gruber. This connects well to an interesting graph that writer Kevin Lynch put in his ‘biographic portrait’ on Jobs; it shows his use of plain English in company communication. Jobs was a master storyteller. t.co/OQhyRwfBJ…
