Natasha and I were shopping at #Aldi when we found these doormats in the ‘central Germanic bargain strip’ (as I call it). I couldn’t help but notice that it almost spelt out #HomePod, however the last letter looks like a ‘d’ that was changed into an ‘i’ at the last minute. t.co/C3AoBn26o…

@endlessnoodling @GivernyW Fantastic! I look forward to seeing the covers!

16 Dec 2018

Day seven of a challenge by @GivernyW to post the covers of seven books that I love: no explanation or review—just the cover. With each post, I’ll ask a friend to take up the challenge (no pressure). One book cover a day for a week! Today, I nominate @endlessnoodling t.co/xOigsrgXk…

@jodiefeld @GivernyW That’s OK!!! Like I said, no pressure…

@atpfm I feel completely vindicated after your most recent episode. As a six-year-old, I toiled through ‘Descent’ on the Power Macintosh 6500 with a keyboard. It was great fun but I was obviously too young to have a clue about joysticks. #atpfm

@bhansmeyer No problem! Thanks for your time! :)

14 Dec 2018

@DancesInUndies @reneritchie Yep, that would be awesome. Agreed!

14 Dec 2018

@bhansmeyer @caseyliss Great article! I agree with your points about photo editing photo (although I’d love to be able to edit metadata like on Mac, e.g. from DSLR). The focus you can achieve when writing is great. If you’re interested, I shared my own thoughts here too: loungeruminator.net/2018/11/22/ipa…

14 Dec 2018

@DancesInUndies @reneritchie Just to clarify by ‘which notifications come through’, do you mean on a more specific/deeper level than just which apps are allowed to come through? As in, categorising types of notification from an app?

14 Dec 2018

@DancesInUndies @reneritchie What do you think would be the single most important enhancement for (more granular) notifications in a world without 3D Touch?

14 Dec 2018

@caeochoa @tldtoday I stumble into little things but the benefit is that the iPad Pro performs many roles for different people, since it is separate from a keyboard. I think the challenge that faces the iPad as a device is the original philosophy of it being an ‘in-between’ device.

14 Dec 2018

@caeochoa @tldtoday Not really, just some little features like editing metadata in Photos, which iOS doesn’t allow. The thing that takes some adjustment is multitasking. I love the Mac and have used it since I was 5, so my habits fit that. What I like about the iPad is the focus and lightness.

14 Dec 2018

@caeochoa @tldtoday I have the 10.5-inch iPad Pro and find that iOS does just about all the things that I need in an everyday computer, however your point about making it a laptop sure does point to increased versatility of the device. It really is a great idea and quite the technical achievement.

@Chundles One of them is listening… twitter.com/CommBank/statu…

14 Dec 2018

@Chundles @siracusa @dhmontgomery I love that you’ve introduced yet another term and yes, that’s probably true. :)

14 Dec 2018

@ulliverti @siracusa Yep, just relax and enjoy your scones; I agree. Anyway, I look forward to potential @atpfm chat about biscuits and scones. Boxed lunches, bagels, pizza, dessert, Thanksgiving and so many other elements have received excellent coverage already. :)

14 Dec 2018

@ulliverti @siracusa Oh right! I would spread the jam evenly first and then generously plonk the cream on top of it. I don’t frown on upon those who do the opposite though.

14 Dec 2018

@ulliverti @siracusa @atpfm Haha yes! People can easily become riled up by this (especially British purists) but I think that it’s just a great example of how diverse the English-speaking world has become globally.

14 Dec 2018

@siracusa This is all just linguistic, so there’s no real right or wrong.( I just find it interesting.) For your interest, here are ‘biscuits’ according to Brits/Australians: bestrecipes.com.au/article/our-fa…

14 Dec 2018

@siracusa Oh in the United States, sure! :) Here are British scones: curiouscuisiniere.com/british-scones/

14 Dec 2018

@siracusa @dhmontgomery Well, technically we’re still a constitutional monarchy but let’s not get into that because I may start to cry. 🇬🇧🇦🇺😭

14 Dec 2018

@siracusa @dhmontgomery As an Australian, the fact that these are called biscuits seems strange and unnatural. Following the tradition of our formerly imperial British overlords, we would call them scones. :)
