@nicolasmagand @LoungeRuminator Thanks for the feedback and I’m glad that you liked For All Mankind as well! I agree with what you said about Apple’s approach; the company is generally good at this and it makes sense. It’s just good for us all to remind such companies that there’s a world beyond the US. šŸ˜€

Check out the latest episode of my #podcast, @LoungeRuminator, in which I explore #radio history, discuss the need for more international content on TV #streaming services and share the story of a bizarre photo album that went from digital to print. šŸŽ™ podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/30-…

@AppleSupport To be clear, I opened Files and the message appeared, which has then flashed on and off. It has happened before and all has been OK, however whenever it happens (across OS versions), I wonder, ā€˜Will I lose everything this time?’. There should be a better way of showing progress.

I’m a fan of #iCloud Drive on #iPadOS but this is a very concerning thing to see in the Files app. Even if it’s ā€˜normal’, @AppleSupport, it’d be great if you were to tell someone to change this. You sit there wondering if all is OK with your files or if your life is destroyed. t.co/QW97zbdjT…

One of my favourite podcasts! It’s interesting to see various different #tech networks and shows, such as @_RelayFM, @atpfm and @ditheringfm, all experiment with membership structures and business models during the ā€˜after-times’ of #COVID19. šŸŽ™ #podcasting twitter.com/ismh/status/12…

@PaulLev Thank you for following! It’s nice to meet you (albeit virtually). I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your texts on media ecology, McLuhan, etc. during my early research. šŸ˜€

Yep… too many video calls! My eyes are falling out of my head. What’s wrong with audio only? #MEA2020 twitter.com/MediaEcology/s…

Great points about privilege by @BBowenBGSU during #MEA2020… I’d say that privilege is the water in which we swim, and as McLuhan’s proverbial fish, we are unaware of that water as we move through it. #mediaecology

An interesting experience joining #MEA2020 virtually… good implementation so far, with initial discussion about online learning! I concur with Mary Alexander, who cites Postman… grades in #education are overrated. Learning requires purpose. #mediaecology t.co/AGsBJUDPH…

@MediaEcology Happy to be joining in from Australia!

@andrewcanion That tweet was a mouthful but I’m impressed, haha.

@philswenson I agree with you about Mac mini. It would certainly be more convenient than the tower set-up from the PowerPC-to-Intel shift!

@nicolasmagand Thanks! I always enjoy swapping such lists because even if the tools are similar, people use them in different ways.

@gruber Exactly!

16 Jun 2020

@gruber, I agree with you about iPad Pro not being the dev kit—great discussion. You can imagine that Apple wouldn’t want to deal with subsequent comments like, ā€˜Aha! So an iPad can be a Mac! Give us macOS instead on iPad now, pls’. It’s branding + corporate philosophy, for sure.

@ChrisComerford3 Sounds cool! Look forward to hearing it! :)

The fact that I could recreate the scene exactly with buttons for ‘POWER DRIVE!’ and ‘No’ makes me so happy. I love this and have bookmarked it for future playback. twitter.com/thatbilloakley…

@KateMfD Emotion AI? My eyes almost rolled out of my head.

@JasonMendeloff @ForbesTech It’s a lazy excuse for journalism. Here are more examples of ‘bad news’ in their titles about different companies, based on nothing but anecdotes and speculation. forbes.com/sites/jaymcgre… | forbes.com/sites/davidthi…

15 Jun 2020

@JasonMendeloff I see @ForbesTech articles often in feeds and find them to be the epitome of clickbait. Even if leaked content ends up being true, the language is too sensational, e.g. ‘If correct, the combination of these disappointments will be a deal breaker for many potential upgraders’.

@cleverdevil @atpfm @siracusa @caseyliss @marcoarment I’m loving the alliteration. Excellent!
